THIER DU MONT MONUMENT, WERBOMONT BELGIUM

On September 7, 2013, a monument was dedicated at Rencheux, Belgium remembering The Battle of The Bulge events on December 23, 1944.

Amongst those units honored are the 508th PIR, 1st Battalion, A and B company
 


508th Jeep
bearing a stencil denoting either 1st Battalion or Company "I" awaits the unveiling of the draped memorial in the background

New Memorial
is flanked by flagpoles and incorporates a large slab of local stone with a pair of dedication plaques

 

"In Tribute To The Defenders"
"With utmost respect and gratitude to the American paratroopers who defended the Rencheux Bridge and river line and to the memory of their comrades who gave their lives for the liberation of Belgium and our Peace and Freedom."

Logos for the 82nd Airborne Division, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment (Company A and B), 119th Glider Field Artillery (A Battery), and 107th Airborne engineer Battalion (Company D) are displayed

Logos for the 7th Armored Division, 106 Infantry Division, 9th Armored Division,  and the 1st Battalion, 112th Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division are displayed

 

Monument Dedicated To The 82nd Airborne Division
