Dominic enlisted in the Army at Philadelphia, PA on 26 May 1942 and volunteered for parachutist duty.

On 16 October 1942 Pvt Angelo was amongst the cadre team transferred from the 507th PIR to Company H of the newly activated 508th PIR at Camp Blanding, FL.

Pvt Angelo was transferred to Company G on 5 November 1942 and promoted to Pfc on 16 November.

On 9 April 1943 Pfc Angelo was transferred to the Parachute School, Ft Benning, GA where he apparently was subsequently placed in the 50p6th PIR.  Incredibly, three months later, on 11 July 1943, he was killed in action in Sicily.
