11 More Bodies of Heroes Arrive in Boston Today

   Eleven bodies of Massachusetts hero dead are arriving in Boston today from New York.
  Six of the bodies are of Greater Boston soldiers: Pfc Raymond D. Levy, Brookline; Pfc William F. Sloan, South Boston; Pfc Thomas F. Logue, Charlestown; Pfc Herbert L. Williams, Everett: Pfc Franklyn D. Seldon, Maiden, and Pvt Richard J. Meade, Hingham.
   Others are Pfc Walter J. Kudzis, Taunton: Pvt George L. Baxter, Lowell; Pfc Leroy E. Ellis Jr., New Bedford; Cpl Carlo Intinarelli, Na-tick, and Lt Com Norman C. Estes, New Bedford.

Grave marker Pvt George L. Baxter in Saint Patrick Cemetery, Lowell, (Middlesex county), Massachusetts

George enlisted in the Army at Fort Devens, MA on 12 April 1943.

Pvt Baxter was transferred to Service Company, 508th PIR from Field Force Replacement Depot #8 on 27 February 1944 and subsequently transferred to Hq 3rd on 2 March 1944.

On 11 April 1944 Pvt Baxter was transferred out of the 508th.

Pvt Baxter was killed in action on 9 January 1945 in Belgium and was awarded  the Purple Heart.
