Grave marker for 1st Lt. Merl Alexander Beach at Section M, Site 603 in the Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, California

Beach served as an enlisted man during WW-II and was a member of G Company.  Following the war he joined a National Guard unit and earned a commission..

Lt. Beach was killed in action on 7 January 1952 in South Korea and was awarded the Purple Heart.
