Grave marker for Pvt William Botz at Section J, Site 15037 in the Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York.

Pvt Botz was wounded on July 3, 1944 and was evacuated to a field hospital.  After recuperation he rejoined the unit on August 20, 1944.

He participated in the ump into Holland on September 17, 1944 and was killed in action the following day.  He was awarded the Purple Heart with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster
