Cpl Brewer was killed in action on June 6, 1944 and was awarded the Purple Heart.

SPECIAL NOTE:  Forrest Brewer was an aspiring baseball player when he was drafted in 1941.  Following basic training he volunteered for parachutist duty and was a member of the 508th cadre when the unit formed in Camp Blanding.  Read more at Baseball's Greatest Sacrifice
