ERNEST G. CADDY

Application for a headstone and resulting grave marker for Ernest G. Caddy in Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy (Norfolk county), Massachusetts.

Ernest enlisted in the Army at Boston, MA on 26 October 1942 and volunteered for parachutist duty.

Pvt Caddy was transferred to Company E, 508th PIR from the Parachute School at Fort Benning, GA on 7 August 1943.

He was then transferred to the 990th Replacement Station on 2 September 1943 and subsequently reassigned to Company A, 509th PIB. 

Pvt Caddy was killed in action on 29 February 1944 during the Southern France Campaign.
