TEC/4 EDWARD T. CHRISTENSEN

.

Application for grave marker and resulting stone for Tec/4 Edward T. Christensen at Plot F Row 10 Grave 6 in the Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial, Luxembourg.

Tec/4 Christensen was killed in action on September 21, 1944 and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster as well as the Purple Heart.

Edward is the only member of the 508th to be buried in this cemetery.  The location was apparently chosen in order allow him to rest next to his younger brother George who is buried in Plot F Row 10 Grave 5.  The two men were sons of  Nils and Dagmar Christensen.  Edward, born in 1919, was five years older than George.

Pfc George D. Christensen served with the 101st Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry "Yankee" Division.  He was killed in action on January 9, 1945 and awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.
