VICTOR C. CHURINSKI

Grave marker for Victor C. Churinski in Plot: J, 14502 of the Long Island National Cemetery, East Farmingdale (Suffolk county), New York.

Victor enlisted in the Army at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 26 October 1942.

On 23 March 1943 Pvt Churinski was attached to Hq Hq, 508th PIR.  He was subsequently transferred to Co G on 1 April 1943.

He was listed on the Company G Morning Report as being on leave for 12 days beginning 11 April 1943.  On 23 April he was shown as returning to duty.

Pvt Churinski does not appear on any subsequent entries but was apparently transferred to the 506th PIR and was killed in action in Belgium, possibly near Bastogne, on 4 January 1945.
