Army Probes Killing
of NJ, Gl in Vietnam

   The accidental shooting death of a 20-year-oid Camden soldier, one of 10,000 Vietnam veterans rushed back to the war zone two weeks ago.
  Sp4 Wayne D. Clements, of 129 Browning street, was reported killed last week in Vietnam.  He had served a year in Vietnam and had been home because of malaria and an injured back.
   His mother Mrs. Gloria Clements, received a telegram Saturday from the Defense Department saying only that the soldier had been killed. A day or so later an Army officer came to the house, but could only add that the death was by "accidental shooting" and an investigation was under way.
   Sp4 Clements, a paratrooper, attended Camden County Vocational School in Pennsauken. He left school in June, 1965, to enlist in the Army. In October, 1965 he  was sent to Vietnam. and returned in October, 1966.
   Sp4 Clements called Fort Bragg, N. C, saying was ordered back to Vietnam. He had been due for discharge in June. He is also survived by two brothers, Ernest, Jr., 25, and Franklin J., 21; and a sister, Donna Marie, 12.

Camden GI Burial in Beverly

   Services for Sp4 Wayne Douglas Clements, 20, of 1329 Browning St., Camden, will be Monday at 10 a.m. from the Bocco Funeral Home, 4th and Walnut Sts., Camden. Burial will be in Beverly National Cemetery, Beverly. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday night.
   Clements was killed m Vietnam in a non-combat accident on Feb. 22. He was due for discharge in June.
   Surviving are his father, Ernest Clements of Calif.; his mother, Mrs. Gloria Clements; two brothers, Ernest Jr. of Westmont and Franklin J. of Camden; and a sister Miss Donna Maria, at home.

Spc-4 Clements died in Quang Tin, South Vietnam, his death was ruled as an accidental homicide.  Results of the probe into circumstances of his death were not published
