Application For Headstone or Marker and resulting grave marker for Pvt Charles L Clemons in the Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi (San Joaquin county), California.

Charles enlisted in the Army at the Presidion , Monterey, CA on 4 April 1944.  He completed basic training and jump school before being shipped to Europe. 

On 16 February 1945 Pvt Clemons was transferred to Headquarters Company 1st Battalion.  Less than a month later he was killed when his parachute malfunctioned during a practice jump in Reims, France.
