PFC JULIAN L COLVIN

Pfc Julian L. Colvin, 21, of Birmingham, Ala., died July 22 in Kandahar, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered from an enemy improvised explosive device. They were assigned to the 508th Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C. Colvin joined the Army in 2011, was a combat engineer. This was his first deployment. Even so, he served bravely and was already the winner of the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal, among others. PFC. Colvin was slain in the line of duty on July 22, 2012 in Afghanistan while serving his country as a soldier in the U.S. Army. He served strongly and faithfully until his untimely demise. His benevolence to his country will be forever remembered in the hearts of his family and friends and gratefully acknowledged by the U.S. Government with thankfulness and appreciation. Left to cherish and delight in his memory are his mother, his father, his brother, special siblings, a special aunt, his grandmother and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 10:00 am at Sixth Avenue Baptist Church with burial at Elmwood Cemetery. Davenport & Harris Directing. Names of the living relatives have been omitted per Find a Grave guidelines.
