Reporting casualties of the armed forces, the war department has announced the death of Pvt. Donald Cornbread of Nixon. He lost his life in action in Europe according 1o the announcement. His next to kin is his wife, Mrs. Edith Cornbread who resides on the Nixon reservation.

Nixon Soldier Killed in War
Pvt. Donald Cornbread, Indian youth from Nixon, has been reported reported as killed in action, according according to a war department release received
here today.
Cornbread was serving with the United States army in the European European theater of war. His next of kin was listed as his wife, Mrs. Edith Cornbread of Nixon.

Three Bodies En Route From Europe
Three World War I servicemen who lost their lives in Europe will
be returned to their home states of Wyoming and Nevada for funeral
services and burial, a defense department announcement said Saturday.
The servicemen, their branch of service and next of kin are:
Wyoming:
2nd Lt. Darrell M. Burk, air force. Jay V. Burk. Torrington.
George Gray, army, Pvt. Raymond E. Gray, Warren A F B.
Nevada:
Pvt Donald Cornbread, army, Roy Cornbread, Carson Indian agency, Stewart.

Memorial Plaque Placed in Douglas
GARDNER VILLE, June 20. Names of 11 men who were killed In service
during world war II are Included on a plaque dedicated during the Carson
Valley day celebration on June 14.
The 20-30 club of Minden directed the ceremony.
Among the world war II victims honored were Wilbur Frank,
Harlan Fricke, Walter Leehman, Howard G. Park, Charles N. Roberts,
Kenneth G. Storke, Earl Watson, Franklin Mack Andrews, Semore Arnold,
