Grave marker for Pvt Willard H. Davis in Section 79, Site 68 in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Saint Louis (St. Louis County), Missouri.

Pvt. Davis was briefly reported as Missing In Action during the Normandy Campaign but was later accounted for.

He was killed in action in the Holland Campaign on September 19, 1944 and was awarded the Purple Heart.

NOTE: Grave marker inscription indicates he was in the 506th PIR which is presumed to be a typo committed during the processing of his paperwork.  No other man by this name was KIA on the same date and from the same area.
