Grave marker for Capt Paul H. Dean at Plot H, Row 10, Grave 55 in the Luxembourg American Cemetery, Luxembourg City, Luxembourg.

Paul enlisted in the Army, date unknown.  In the Federal Census on 12 April 1940 he is listed as a Pfc in the 11th Infantry division at Fort Harrison, Indiana.

He was apparently tapped for OCS, probably in 1940/41, and commissioned as a 2nd Lt.

Lt Dean completed jump school and was transferred from the Parachute School, Ft. Benning to Hq Hq, 508th PIR on 1 October 1942 and was assigned as the Assistant Regimental Adjutant.

(Lt? Capt?) Dean was later transferred to the 513th.  He was killed in action on Jan 24 1945 and was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.
