PFC EARL G. GALLAGHER

.

Grave marker for Pfc Earl G. Gallagher in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, Irving (Dallas county), Texas.

Earl enlisted prior to the initiation of the draft.  These records were created on 26 October 1945 following his discharge three days earlier.

Earl enlisted in the Army at Winnsboro, TX on 25 November 1940.

Pvt Gallagher was transferred from Hq Field Force Replacement Depot #8 to Company I on 25 April 1944.

On 15 January 1945 Pvt Gallagher was evacuated as a non-battle casualty.

Still not recovered, he was transferred to the hospital's detachment of patients on 17 April 1945.

Although there is a record of him being discharged on 23 October 1945, he apparently re-enlisted.

On 2 January 1949 Pfc Gallagher was killed in an automobile accident in Cameron, TX.  He was posted to Fort Hood at that time.
