Grave marker for Pfc Hugh J. Glynn in Plot I Row 2 Grave 5 of the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy.

Hugh enlisted in the Army at Boston, MA on 17 October 1942 and volunteered for parachutist duty.

Pfc Glynn was transferred from the Parachute School, Ft Benning GA on 6 August 1943 and assigned to Company E.  He was subsequently transferred from Company E to Replacement Station #990 on 2 September 1943.

He was apparently further reassigned to the 509th PIR and went into action in Italy.

Pfc Glynn was killed in action on June 11, 1944 and was awarded the Purple Heart
