Grave marker of SSgt David A. Henry in Section H, Site 5528 of the .Memphis National Cemetery, Memphis, Tennessee.

SSgt Henry was severely wounded while adjusting mortar fire on July 4, 1944 Hill 30 in Normandy, France .

He was evacuated to a hospital in England but succumbed to his wounds on August 3, 1944.

SSgt Henry was initially buried in the Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial site in England.  His remains were later repatriated and he was laid to his final rest in the Memphis National Cemetery, Memphis, Tennessee.  He was awarded the Purple Heart.
