Glenn enlisted in the Army at Cincinnati, Ohio on 21 October 1942.  As a parachutist volunteer he was sent to Camp Blanding where the 508th had been activated the same day as his enlistment.  He was assigned to Company F and remained with the company throughout training and into combat.

Pfc Kincaid jumped into Normandy on D-Day, 6 June 1944 and was killed in action the following day.  He was awarded the Purple Heart as well as the Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB), both posthumously.
