The hand-drawn grave site map (above, right) depicts the location of five field graves in the vicinity of the Torensche Molen (Mill).  Site 5 is the location of the initial grave for Pfc Leon who was killed in action on September 23, 1944

On 18 July 1945, he was re-buried in the Margraten U. S. War Cemetery Netherlands, in grave KK-9-224.

When the Margraten American Cemetery was opening, his family elected to repatriate his remains and he now rests in Section H, Site 574 in Ft Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, CA.  Pfc Leon was awarded the Purple Heart.
