PFC MARTIN J. MAHER

4 More Ohioans Killed in Vietnam

   WASHINGTON (AP) --- Four 1 more Ohio servicemen have been, killed in recent action in Vietnam, the Defense Department reported Tuesday.
   They were Army 1st Lt. Lawrence E. Strayer of Dublin, Army Sgt. Jim A. Thompson of Lima, Army Pfc. Martin J Maher of Cincinnati and Marine Pfc. Charles J. Freeland of Worthington.
   Marine Lance Cpl. Melvin W. Eakins of Cincinnati was listed as having died not as a result of hostile action.

Viet Combat Kills West End Soldier

The Department of Defense said Tuesday that Pfc. Martin J. Maher, son of Mrs. C. Bernadette Maher, 14 C Boltwood Ct, West End, was killed in hostile action in Vietnam. Members of the family declined any further information about Private Maher.

Martin enlisted in the Army on 5 November 1968 and was killed in action by an explosive device in Hau Nghia Province, South Vietnam on 5 May 1969.
