Grave marker for Ernest J. Mardis in
Shadowlawn Memorial Park, Birmingham (Jefferson county), Alabama.
Sgt
Mardis was one of four men traveling in a military vehicle during
maneuvers held at Fort Carson, Colorado.
The vehicle overturned killing him and one other man and
injuring the others.
