PFC ARNOLD H. MARTIN

Mrs. George Culver aid Mrs. Wm. Pentz attended the services Friday afternoon at the Mitchell Funeral Home for Pfc. Arnold H. Martin, whose body was being re-interred at the Oxford' Cemetery. Rev. Robberson, pastor of the Oxford Methodist Church officiated. The Oxford American Legion Post was in charge and rendered full military honors. Arnold, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Martin was killed in action in France, June 17, 1944.

Arnold registered for the draft in Scottsbluff, NE on 1 July 1941.

Pvt Martin's arrival in the 5098th is not recorded on available documents but on 1 September 1943, the Company H morning report registered him departing on furlough and 10 days later he returned for duty.  He was appointed to Pfc on the 28th of the month.

Pfc Martin was killed in action on June 17, 1944 and was awarded the Purple Heart
