A native of Mazatlan (Sonora), Mexico, Victor immigrated
to the U.S. at age 4 as he and his parents crossed the border at
Nogales, AZ on 23 January 1923.

Victor registered for the draft in Covina, CA on 16 October
1940. He was inducted into the arm on 6 November 1931.
By
3 May 1943,
Victor appeared before the U.S. District Court in Boston, MA to petition
for citizenship. With him were two witnesses, Cp; Fody and Sgt
Anders of Company A, 544th EAR at Camp Edwards, MA. Victor, however,
based on the typed entry at the head of the page, was in Company F of
that same unit.
His petition was accepted as when he re-enlisted on 30 November 1943 he
was shown as a citizen.
Pfc Martinez was killed in action on January 28, 1945 and was awarded the Purple Heart |
