PVT WADE McCULLEY


The Bodies of 28 More Heroes Being Returned;
Majority Were Killed In Action In France

The remains of Pvt Wade McCulley were returned to the U.S. aboard the USAT Lawrence Victory.  His name appears at the lower right of column two.

JOURNEY'S END

McCulley --- Pfc Wade, beloved son of James McCulley, devoted brother of John McCulley, and the late James McCulley.  Died in the service of his country, June 18, 1944 in Normandy, France; residence, 1153 Hamilton ave,; age 19 years.  Funeral with military honors, Saturday, May 29, 1948, at 10 a.m,, from Spaeth Sons funeral home, 1320 Chase ave. at Chambers st., Northside.  Friends may call Friday after 3:30 p.m.

Grave marker for Pvt Wade McCulley at Section G, Grave 55, Range 10 in the Wesleyan Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ohio.  The stone bears the inscription of "Gone Not Forgotten"

Pvt McCulley was killed in action on June 7, 1944 and was awarded the Purple Heart.

The grave site is shared by James McCulley Wade's older brother, who died in 1947 after being struck by a locomotive..
