PVT ALBERT F. MILLER

Grave marker application and resulting grave marker for Pvt Albert F. Miller, headstone to be placed in Levering 104, Woodlawn Cemetery, Woodlawn (Baltimore county), Maryland.

 

Albert registered for the draft in Baltimore City, MD on 30 September 1942 and was inducted into the Army at Baltimore, MD on 16 November 1942.

On29 September 1944, Pvt Miller was transferred from 82bd Airborne Division Hq to Service Company. 508th PIR and subsequent to Company "I",

Pvt Miller was wounded in action on 9 January 1945 and evacuated to a field hospital.  He was evacuated to a hospital in Cambridge, England, 18 March 1945.  There he was traumatic amputation of a lower extremity, caused by a bullet or or other missile. He then contracted hepatitis.  He died of his wounds on18 March 1945

Pvt Miller received the Combat Infantryman Badge for action during Normandy, France Campaign, 6 June 1944 to 9 July 1944.
