CPL MAX E. NIMPHIE

Three Killed in Action
  
Washington (AP) --- Three Michigan men were among 65 U.S. servicemen listed Friday by the Defense Department as killed in action in Vietnam.  The status of another changed from missing to dead as a result of hostile action.
   Killed in action were Army Cpl Max E. Nimphie son of Max E. Nimphie of Fenton; Lance Cpl Dale Cl. Andrews, son of Mrs. Helen Andrews of Pontiac, and Lance Cpl Martin E. Niemi, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene V. Niemiec of Scandia.

Application for a headstone or marker and resulting grave marker for Cpl Max E. Nimphie in the Sturgis Addition Section A, Fairview Cemetery, Linden (Genesee county), Michigan.

Cpl Nimphie, a member of Company A, 508th ARCT was killed in action on 5 May 1968 in Thua Thien, Vietnam and was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart.
