Grave marker for Pvt Henry S. Pawlings at Plot C Row 24 Grave 1945 in the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in Colleville-sur-Mer, France

Pvt Pawlings was killed in action on June 6, 1944 and was awarded the Purple Heart

(NOTE:  Although Pawling's grave stone indicates that he was a member of the 504th PIR, his name does appear on the official 508th Honor Roll published by the regiment after it returned to England.  He was attached to the 508th as a Pathfinder and was a member of Chalk 18).
