Pvt Ned Rosenthal. Mrs. Adrian Joint's son, Dies in France
  
Pvt Ned Rosenthal, Son of Mrs. Adrian Joint, Racine Wis., formerly of Escanaba [MI], was killed in action in France on July 11. according to an announcement by the War Department.
   Pvt Rosenthal was a paratrooper and went to England last January.
   Previously he was erroneously reported as missing in action since June 6.

Pvt Ned Rosenthal's Body Being Returned
   Mrs. Adrian Joint, of Racine, Wis., former resident of Escanaba, has been advised that the body of her son, Pvt Ned Donald Rosenthal, is enroute to the United States for burial.  Full military services will be held in Racine.  a sister of the young soldier, Mrs. Myra Pfleger Tardiff of New York, will go to Racine for the funeral.

Grave marker for Ned D. Rosenthal in the Graceland Cemetery, Racine (Racine county), Wisconsin.

Ned enlisted in the National Guard on 29 June 1936 and transferred to the Regular Army on 18 August 1942.

Pvt Rosenthal, Hq 1st, was reported MIA on 6 June 1944 but his status was later changed to KIA on 11 July 1944 which may imply he was one of those drowned on the jump.
