Obituary Notice - Arnold J. Sims, Pfc, Army

Arnold J. Sims was born in Lanett, Alabama, August 26, 1918;  son of Rich and Floira Sims.  He attended public school in Lanett, and was employed by Lanett Mill before entering the service September 1, 1936.  He served in the European Theater with the 82nd Airborne, and was killed in action June 12, 1944, in the invasion of Normandy.  Awarded the American Defense ribbon, ETO ribbon with 1 battle star, Purple heart and Presidential Citation of Death.  He leaves his widow Doris Byeis Sims.

According to Arnold's nephew, this undated article appeared in a local paper on the Alabama / Georgia border . No other specifics are known.
