Grave marker for Pvt John T. Smith in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

Pvt. Smith was killed in action on June 6, 1944 and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Note that Carl W. Smith lying to the right of John,. and perhaps his father, predeceased him by a year.  Carl had been a 1st Lt. in the Quartermaster Corps during WW-I.
