England or France after he recuperated from a wound sustained in France in
June of 1944. After his recovery he rejoined the 508th

1945. |
The
Oneida Service News, Rhinelander, Wisconsin carried the notice of Pvt. Glenn's
death in it's February 19, 1945 edition.
The article featured an excellent synopsis of Ward's life before and after joining
the military.
News of other service personnel have been left in this display as the
notices are interesting to read.
Note that Cpl. Erwin Kunze, KIA in France on January 6, 1945,
had also been trained at Camp Blanding although he was not a paratrooper.
Many infantry units saw their basic training at Blanding before they shipped
out to other locations for specialized training.
