7 Georgians Die in Action In Vietnam

   WASHINGTON Seven Georgians were among 164 U.S. servicemen listed Tuesday by the Defense department as killed in action in Vietnam.
   Those listed from Georgia were Marine First Lt. Stephen R. Hilton, husband of Mrs. Stephen R. Hilton, Augusta; Army SSgt. Thomas E. Richey, husband of Mrs. Gladys M. Richey, Atlanta; Spec. 4 Raymond K Honaker Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond K. Honaker Sr., Brunswick;
   Army Cpl. Philip W. Weaver, husband of Mrs. Cheryl D. Weaver, College Park, and Spec. 4 Johnny B. Nesbitt, husband of Mrs. Ellie B. Nesbitt, McDonough;
   Marine Lance Cpl. Franklie L. Smiley, son of Mrs. Mattie Smiley, Riceboro, and Lance Cpl Vernon L. Yarber, husband of Mrs. Vernon L. Yarber, Marietta.

Grave marker for Cpl Philip W. Weaver in Section DMP, College Park Cemetery, College Park (Fulton county), Georgia.

Cpol Weaver arrived in Vietnam on 6 May 1958 and was assigned to Company C, 508th Infantry.

He was killed in action by small arms fire on 26 August 1968.

His military decorations include the Purple Heart.
