Interment record for Pfc Jack Wichelns in Section J Site 15380 of the Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale (Suffolk county), New York.

Pfc Wichelns enlisted at Ft Jay, Governors Island, NY and was a member of Company H, 508th PIR.  He was transferred from the regiment in March 1944 and was serving with the 405th Infantry Regiment, 102nd Infantry Division when he was killed in action on 23 February 1945.  Pfc Wichelns was awarded the Purple Heart.
