COMPANY A - AFTER THE
WAR |
Rex Combs maintained a contact list of men from his company
and penned in any additional information that he gathered at a later date.
This list, incidentally, had to be compiled after July 1, 1963 when the new
five-digit ZIP Codes were introduced nationwide and Rex ensured he had the
Zip for every entry.
However, the state abbreviations that he used are "old-school"
preceding the new
standard two-character codes were introduced in 1987
. The list may well have been to act as a mailing list for the first 508th
reunion that was held in Chicago on July 3 - 5, 1975. |
