Frank Longiotti - C Co

I was only 19, the girls lined up along the fence at Wollaton Park.

I liked to ride the double deckers, I was always on the top deck.

I also loved the fish and chips for sixpence.

I jumped in Normandy and came back to Nottingham without a scratch.

Then I started going to Beeston, in which I was befriended by a family called Bailey and we toured Nottingham Castle.

My laundry was done by some kid’s mother for yellow soap.

I also took a canoe ride with another trooper.

We both hung out at the Queen’s Arms Pub.

I brought a bicycle to ride around.

The movies were fun, when the Yanks laughed at the jokes the Brits just wondered. Then when the Brits laughed we just looked the same way.

Then I went to Holland and was shot in the chest.

I was then sent back to England then sent home.
