S-SgL. Ray. L. Ware of Logansport. La., was another paratrooper who missed his drop
zone. An unarmed medic with the 82nd Airborne, he landed "by my lonesome."
"Wasn't anybody hollering medic? Didn't you have anybody to work on?" asked Sgt. Harry Thomas of Magnolia, Miss.
"No," the trooper replied, "but those Germans were working on me,, Every time I stuck my head up those brrr t guns would start spitting."
