Pennsylvania WWII Veterans Bonus Application for Jack W. Beggs.

Jack enlisted in the Army at Fort George G. Meade, MD on 19 January 1942.  He later volunteered for parachutist duty  and was assigned to Hq 2nd, 508th PIR.

On 24 December 1944 Pfc Beggs was reported as Missing In Action.  In fact, he had been taken prisoner on that day and he was not released until 24 April 1945.

Perhaps hospitalized for a time, he did not return to the U.S. until 3 July 1945.  He was finally discharged at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation, PA on 16 November 1945.
