Quintin D. Marshall enlisted in the Army at Oklahoma City, OK
on 22 December 1943. Pvt Marshall was transferred to
Co F, 508th PIR on 11 November 1944.
He was wounded in action in Belgium on 25 January 1945 and
evacuated to a field hospital. On 26 April 1945 he was dropped from
the rolls of the 508th and transferred to the hospital's Detachment of
Patients.
It was on 26 May 1945 that Pvt Marshall was transferred
back to Co F, 508th from the 19th Reinforcement Depot.
Pvt Marshall was discharged on 27 December 1945 but
elected to re-enlist on 30 March 1946.
On
28 July 1953 SSgt Marshall accompanied by his wife Welta and son, Quinton D,
Jr., departed McGuire AFB, NJ on Seaboard and Western Airlines, Flight AD
27, bound for Frankfurt, Germany.
 After
a three-year tour of duty, the family now expanded to four with a daughter,
Ruby, age 4 months and named after her maternal grandmother, returned to
McGuire AFB from Rhein Main, Germany on a C-118 (civilian version known as
DC-6).
After a succession of re-enlistments, MSgt Marshall was
discharged on 19 May 1974 and retired to Washington state. Both he and
his wife who survived him by 18 years, died in Bothell (King county), WA.
