Grave marker for Edgar J. Masten in Section 59, Site 1568,
Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington (Arlington county), Virginia.
Edgar enlisted in the Army at Wilmington, DE on 27 December
1941 and volunteered for parachutist duty. He was assigned to the
509th PIR and was awarded he Broze Service Arrowhead device for the
Aurellino campaign and Airborne operation 18 August 1943.
Sgt Masten was transferred to Co H, 508th on 27 February
1945 while the regiment was in Strategic Reserve, in Sissonne, France.
His headstone indicates that he served in Korea and
Vietnam as well. |
