GEORGE F. MAY
George F. May, 89, of N. Vine St., Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the Harrisburg Hospital.

George was born on June 12, 1923 in Middletown and was the son of the late, Albert F. and Marie H. Siar May.

He was retired from the State Department of Transportation.

George was a veteran of WWII, a Purple Heart Recipient during the Battle of the Bulge and in the Normandy Invasion, and became a Prisoner of War.

He was a great outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, fishing, African big game hunting, and was an excellent marksman on the PA State Pistol Shooting Team.

He was a member of Prince Edwin-Spring Creek Masonic Lodge, 486, Middletown and a Life member of the Highspire Boat Club.

Surviving are his wife Marlyn L. (Lucas) May; brother Charles E. May of Middletown; sister, Virginia E. Dubois of San Diego, Sally A. wife of John Hudson of Pittsburgh, and Charlotte M. May of Lebanon Co.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by brothers, Albert and Richard May and sisters, June May and Doris Gilbert.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
