Elgin D. Buchholz was born in Alberta, Canada in
either Medicine Hat or Hilda. His father Ferdinand immigrated to
San Francisco, CA in 1924, the same year his son Elgin was born.
Two years later he had saved enough to pay for the transportation for
his wife and four children.
The family group traveled south from
the Medicine Hat, Alberta area to make their border crossing at the
Eastport, Idaho on 25 September 1928. From there they traveled to
San Francisco to join the head of the family. |
