Combat Scenes In Holland

(A war-torn Dutch neighbor-hood with a dejected figure sitting in front of a hardware store and coal yard.
The sign "Charbons& Vauteraux de Construction"
translates as Coal and Construction Supplies])

( Hans Brok of Holland wrote "This was taken near the Nijmegen bridge which is behind the photographer. The roundabout is 'Keizer Traianusplein'. The buildings are at the St. Jorisstraat [St. Johns Street]. To the right is into the center of Nijmegen.)

(The Nijmegen Bridge was attacked by 508th, Co. G, during Market Garden.)

(Once the bridge was taken, Allied traffic soon roared across to pursue the fleeing Germans including what one person thinks may be a Cushman airborne scooter?  If so, this is a rare shot.)
