Army Paratroopers Stage A Mass Descent
Nearly 290 U.S. parachutists filled the sky recently at Camp Mackall
near Hoffman, NC, making one of the most striking pictures of
American airborne might yet to come out of the war. The occasion was
the dedication of the paratroopers training center at the field named for
John T. Mackall, of Wellsville, Ohio, who made his last parachute jump
during the North African invasion and later died of his wounds.
