WHEREAS, 1990 Has been
declared, "The Year of the Airborne" by many states in
Commemoration of the Airborne's 50th Anniversary;. and
WHEREAS, national recognition will be given in June, 1990,
in Washington, D.C., honoring all those courageous men who
served in the Airborne Divisions to protect our country's
freedom and rights! and
WHEREAS, the Airborne has been decorated for its many
heroic accomplishments during the past 50 years; and
WHEREAS, many brave men of the Airborne fought and died
to preserve our freedom, deserve high praise, respect, and
recognition from their fellow Americans; and
WHEREAS, many veterans having fought and served in the
Airborne Divisions are to be commended for their dedication
and love for their country;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County
Commissioners, Clay County, Florida, herewith joins with
others in celebrating, the 50th Anniversary of. the
Airborne, and wishes to express their deepest gratitude to
those men of the Airborne for their acts of valor and
courage in protecting this country's most cherished freedom.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of County
Commissioners, Cloy County, Florida, hereby proclaims 1990
as "THE YEAR OF THE AIRBORNE", and urges all citizens to
participate in this observance.
