HQ COMPANY, 3rd  BATTALION - CAMP MACKALL, 1943 (or other location as noted)
Pfc Wilfred B. Mack Pvt Robert G. Mangers
was captured on Christmas Day 1944 and sent to POW camp Stalag 13C. He escaped in Germany while being transported from Stalag 13C and was recaptured shortly afterwards. He escaped again and made it back to the American lines in April 1945.  He was awarded the Silver Star.

graduated from the U.S. Military Academy, Class of 1940.  He assumed command of  the 3rd Battalion upon activation in October 1942 at Camp Blanding and led the unit throughout the war including jumps into Normandy and Holland..
