MEDICAL DETACHMENT - CAMP MACKALL, 1943 (or other location as may be noted)
Pvt Donald R. Adams
of Plankinton, SD participated in the first landings in the Italian Campaign (Sicily) in 1943. June 6, 1944, he dropped behind enemy lines prior to the landings at Normandy, France and was wounded on July 4th. On September 17, 1944, he jumped into Holland in Operation Market-Garden.  Cpl Adams was killed in action on September 25, 1944.  (Photo and text (courtesy of Commander VFW Post 6554, Plankinton, SD)

sharing laughs and wine in Normandy.  Both were captured shortly afterward and held at Orglandes.  Lehman was KIA on July 3rd
