REUNION 8 - FORT  BRAGG, NC Oct  1982   (3 of 10)

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Regimental C.P. (Open Bar) is located in the building between the APARTEL and the motel, in the lower level adjacent to the indoor swimming pool.

You will be on your own for Breakfast on Thursday and Saturday mornings and for dinner on Thursday and Friday evenings.  Restaurant information will be posted in the Reception Area.

In event of inclement weather on Friday, a planned alternate schedule will be implemented.

Meal tickets have been provided for the Welcome Breakfast, the Picnic/Barbeque, the Dinner Dance, and the Memorial Brunch.  Please remember to bring them with you to the different activities.  They will be collected and are necessary in order for the Committee to obtain an accurate headcount.

NOTES

1. Be sure and bring your meal tickets. Busses will commence loading at 0845 0815 hours.  Bring your cameras and wear comfortable shoes.

2.  LTG Jack V. Mackmull, Commanding General XVIII Abn Corps and Fort Bragg, and Mayor Bill Hurley of Fayetteville, will join us for Breakfast and present welcoming remarks.

3.  We will be broken down into three groups and will eat in three different Dining Halls.  Cost of the meal is $1.90 per person; be sure to have sufficient small change (one dollar bills) on hand to pay

4.  There are no planned activities for Friday night.  The Regimental C. P. Bar will be open.  Information on recommended restaurants will be posted in the reception area.

5.  Be sure and bring your meal tickets.  Busses will commence loading at 1115 hours.  The capacity of the 82d Abn Div Museum is about 100 people at a time.  In order to avoid excessive waiting time, we will stagger the attendance.  The last two busses in the convoy traveling to the picnic will peel off and go directly to the Museum; the ret will go to McKellar's Lodge.  later, after all have eaten, we will run shuttle busses back to the Museum for anyone who wants to go.  If you don't want to go to the Museum, don't get on the last two busses.

6.  We have invited a selected group of Troopers from the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the 508th to be out guests at the picnic.  Get around and talk with them and make them feel at home.

7.  Be sure and bring your meal tickets.  Coat and tie for the men is required at the Officers Club.  Busses will start loading at 1745 hours.

8.  The Hodge and Sink Rooms are located on the second floor of the Officer's Club.  Pay-as-you-go Bars will be open in both rooms.  The photographer will available and we will try to take as many unit photos as possible during the Cocktail hour.  Please start moving down to the Lafayette Room, located on the first floor not later than 1945 so that everyone will be seated for Dinner promptly at 2000 hours.  We have entertainment programmed and the schedule is tight.

9.  The colors will be posted immediately after everyone is seated; please remain standing for the pledge to the Flag and the Blessing by Chaplain (Col) (Ret) Corbin Ketchersid.  The 82d Chorus will honor us with a concert immediately after dinner.  Following this, there will be a brief intermission (10 - 15 minutes) while the tables are cleared and "pit stops" accomplished.  The CG of the 82d Abn Div, MG Jim Lindsay, will make a brief presentation on "The 82d Abn Div Today".  This will be followed by a present ton of trophies and awards and the Retiring of the Colors.  Then the Roy Roach Band will play for our dancing pleasure.

10.  A minibus will be available at 1200 hours and for the rest of the afternoon and evening to transport people to the airport.  The Regimental C.P. Bar will be open shortly after 1200 hours for those who wish to remain and socialize for a while.
