 The Mourning Woman
overlooking the reflecting pool, stands this bronze figure with its three attendant doves and a new shoot sprouts from the war ravaged tree.
Near the statue is the inscription: "NEW LIFE FROM WAR'S DESTRUCTION PROCLAIMS MAN'S IMMORTALITY AND HOPE FOR PEACE" |
 Inscription reads as:
EACH FOR HIS OWN MEMORIAL
EARNED PRAISE THAT WILL NEVER DIE
AND WITH IT
THE GRANDEST OF ALL SEPULCHERS
NOT THAT IN WHICH
HIS MORTAL BONES ARE LAID
BUT A HOME
