Navy, RAF, WAAF were all represented. Tim Richmond MBE, Vice Lord-Lieutenant of
Nottinghamshire was also in attendance.

are both from 1st Airborne 44. |
The First Allied Airborne Honor Guard Association
performed the ceremony with full colors of the 508 and U.S.A. national
Flags.
Both British and American national anthems were
played followed during the unveiling of the American Flag which covered
the memorial.
The flag was then presented to Friend of the
508, Kathy Price.

Savage [eft of Reverend Gaynor in red Beret ]
told of how he was a 12-year old boy who got fish and chips for some of
the troopers when they were confined to camp.
The troopers gave him a special signal so that no other troopers
would steal their food. John whistled "Sing Baby Sing" at the Tent
City Fence surrounding the Camp.
